Unplug, Unwind, Relax!
Board, the Isle of Wights first board game cafe
What to Expect
Lots of games! We are a Board Game Cafe after all! Our super friendly staff are here to help make your visit a great experience. We also offer great tasting local cakes and bakes, freshly made paninis and nibbles and locally sourced coffee and teas.
How It Works
Come in, we’ll find you a seat and point you in the direction of some games. Our cover charge of £4 gives you 3 hours of gaming, or you can opt for the express option and play for 1 hour for £2.
If you’re just after a drink or a bite to eat, the cover charge doesn’t apply.
Our huge library of games has something for everyone. Traditional games like Monopoly, Scrabble and even Snakes & Ladders sit alongside modern classics like Catan, Pandemic and Ticket to Ride, along with a whole host of new and unusual games for you to discover.
Food & Drink
We have a selection of locally baked cakes along with snack bowls to graze on while you play, freshly made toasted paninis and more. We use locally blended teas and locally roasted coffees. Plus, we use plant based biodegradable packaging for all of our disposables.
Our games library caters for all tastes, skill levels and time scales. Want to know more? Take a look!
Game of the Month
In Century: Spice Road, the first of the Century: trilogy by Emerson Matsuuchi, up to five players race to complete five demand cards, by cashing in a combination of spices. There are always five different public desired demands worth varying amounts, with the first two coming with bonus coins.
Century: Spice Road is a race, but like a number of modern board games with a ‘game end trigger’, the person that ends the game is no guaranteed to win. The person who has accrued the most points via their completed demands wins, so the real question is: do you rush to end the game and complete more orders? Or risk completing fewer, more valuable ones?
